Thiru Arimeya Vinnagaram is one of the Didvya Desams in Thirunangur near Sirkali. Situated at about 8 kms from Sirkali, the temple is other wise known as “Kudamaadu Koothar” Temple. "Ari" means one who makes the sins to vanish and perhaps this place came to be known as Thiru Arimeya Vinnagaram, as the Lord here vanquishes the sins of those who seek His blessings.
The Moolavar here is Kudamaadu Koothar. Thirumanjanam is not performed for Moolavar as He is made of “Suthai” and hence He is always in “Thailakaappu”. The Lord here is the manifestation of Govardhanagiridhari at Mathura. As Govardhanagiridhari protected the cows and the people from “Aayar” kulam, Kudamaadu Koothar protects His devotees here.
The Utavsar here is Chaturbhuja Gopalan. Udhanga Maharisi performed penance here and the Lord appeared to him as Chaturbhuja Gopalan. Thirumangai Azhwar has sung 10 paasurams in praise of the Lord here. Thayar here is known as Amruthakadavalli.
